If you have tried dieting in the past year then you are not alone. Retail analysts Mintel surveyed over 2,000 Brits and found that 48% had tried to lose weight in the last year. 64% of those who had dieted said that do so 'all or most of the time'.
The word diet has not become synonymous with calorie restriction. Eat less to lose more weight is the message relayed time and again, but although nearly half of the population are dieting the obesity epidemic is raging.
The answer is not dieting, instead we need to look at our habits both eating and in day to day to find what is working and what is not.
